Bloomingdale's and Space NK have agreed to an exclusive multiyear arrangement to open beauty boutiques in nine Bloomingdale's locations across the country, beginning in November. The British based retail phenomenon, founded by Belfast born, Nicky Kinnaird, is known for an innovative approach, exceptional service and a highly edited selection of the beauty items sourced by Kinnaird herself.

"This is a powerful partnership of two brands that believe in the importance of accessible luxury," said Michael Gould, chairman and CEO of Bloomingdale's. "Together, we can offer the Bloomingdale's customer a unique shopping experience and access to top beauty brands from all over the world."

"Space NK is based on a vision of my personal dream store," said Nicky Kinnaird, founder and creative director. "I wanted to create an experience that would impress me as a customer, delight, educate, and surprise me. Our partnership with Bloomingdale's will give us increased accessibility and allow us to introduce the Space NK concept to a wider audience."

Locations slated for Bloomingdale's include the flagship 59th Street store in Manhattan as well as SoHo and White Plains, NY; Chestnut Hill, MA; and Sherman Oaks, Newport Beach, South Coast Plaza, Century City, and San Francisco, CA.

The square footage of each shop will range from 750 to 1,000 square feet. The boutiques will mirror the design and feel of existing Space NK locations, offering a selected mix of beauty brands created by innovators and experts in their fields.

Each location will be staffed with knowledgeable, unbiased skincare experts and makeup artists, who can advise each customer about their specific beauty needs and prescribe personalized solutions across multiple brands.

Space NK signature elements, such as clean modern design, bright lighting and an open, inviting atmosphere, will be replicated inside Bloomingdale's.

Over the past 15 years, word of mouth buzz has built awareness of the Space NK brand within transAtlantic circles. The Kinnaird staff is said to provide unbiased opinions on some of the best skincare, makeup, hair care, fragrance and body care available.

Space NK currently operates 58 stores throughout the United Kingdom and four in the U.S. Bloomingdale's, a division of Macy's Inc., currently operates 40 stores in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Minnesota, Georgia, Florida, Nevada and California.
