Money back guarantees are a rarity in the closeout wholesale liquidation business. "I believe we are the only wholesale liquidator that guarantees our merchandise," says Bill Weston, an owner of MBK Wholesale Inc. in Peachtree City, GA. "If a retailer is dissatisfied with anything, within 14 days we will pick up the merchandise and refund the money," he says.

Truckloads of first quality merchandise arrive at one of three MBK Wholesale's large warehouses in Georgia every week. The products cover all categories except food and clothing, says Weston. "All is new, original merchandise. Of that, about 30 percent is imported purchase deals we have put together ourselves, and 70 percent is overstocks. There are no seconds, returns or shelf pulls," he adds.

The breadth of product, the prices, the guarantee and the Internet have led the company to annual sales of $7.5 million, Weston reports. The company was founded in 1991 as, "a local wholesale and liquidation distributor for small stores and flea market vendors," he recalls.

In 1997, however, when MBK went online, it saw dramatically significant growth. "We were one of the first wholesalers on the Internet," he says. "We receive new items every week, and we update the website twice a week."

Retailers can register on the site for free, and those who do, get emails as soon as new merchandise arrives. "It's important to register and be on that list," Weston says, "because about 30 percent of what comes in is sold out within a week."

The minimum is $100, and can be of anything MBK has in stock, "Although there are some quantity requirements with certain items, which are sold mostly by the case," says Weston. There is free shipping on all jewelry and leather products.

Without specifying the typical wholesale cost, he says, "We strive to be the lowest price anywhere. Our goal is to ensure that our retailers make a good profit. Some of our deals are as low as 10 percent on the wholesale dollar," he adds.
