Office Depot Teams with Google

Jul 1, 2008

Office Depot Inc. has launched an online business resource center with Google, to give small retailers access to Google's marketing and business tools. The resource center is accessible via a link at OfficeDepot.com.

By using the resource center, Office Depot customers gain access to a variety of Google products to grow their businesses. That includes Google AdWords. Office Depot customers will receive $50 of free ads from AdWords, which is Google's program for placing ads next to search results.

Retailers also will have access to Google Apps, which includes Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs; and Google Local Business Center, which can be used to create free online listings that include an address, phone number, hours of operation and photos. The listings appear in Google search results and Google Maps, and can link to the retailers' websites.

"Office Depot knows what it takes to be successful in the online space, and is excited to provide small businesses with innovative tools that will help their business be successful," says Jeffrey Rohling, Office Depot's VP of direct sales. "By working with Google, we will be able to provide customers real tools that will help them to grow and expand amid a very challenging business environment."
