Lamps Light at Touch

Aug 1, 2009

LIFESTYLE LIGHTING carries five styles of touch lamps in three sizes, and a selection of approximately 200 different patterns or images, which are fired into the lamp's glass shade. The frame of touch lamps is metal, and a touch mechanism on the base of the lamp releases wattage to the bulb, making the lamp light up.

The themes of the images on the shade include celebrities, the armed forces, wild life, Native American designs, flowers, cartoons, religious themes and more. This company has been in business since 1984, and notes that the touch lamps don't wear out. There are two sizes of smaller touch lamps: 14 and 17 inches. These come with a 24 watt bulb, and will accommodate standard light bulbs of up to 40 watts. The wholesale cost is $12 to $14, depending on style, image and quantity. The suggested retail price is $39 to $49.

The large touch lamp is 24 inches tall. It accommodates three candelabra bulbs and comes with three 15 watt bulbs. It can handle three 25 watt maximum candelabra bulbs. This wholesales for $14 to $17.50, depending on the image. Those carrying celebrity, cartoon and identified logo designs are at the upper end of the range. The suggested retail is $69 to $79. The minimum order is four units, although the supplier prefers to sell in full cases of eight or 12 units.
