Friski Boots Take London by Storm

Aug 1, 2008

ITASCA MOCCASIN, which produces more than a dozen different styles of authentic leather moccasins, is building a worldwide fashion clientele. Sales of the company's Friski Boot have reached trend proportions in London, often considered the fashion capital of the world, and several other models aren't far behind on the fashion scene. These designs have also taken off in Switzerland and Japan, as well as the U.S.

The common denominator is the fringe. Friski is a 10 inch high pull on boot with a seven inch fringe. It is offered in toast, black, red, dark brown, beige, purple, pumpkin and milk chocolate color suede, with a full grain canoe sole. It is also available in elk, buffalo and any of the company's other full grain leathers. In suede, the wholesale price is $90, and the suggested retail price is $169 a pair.

Two other styles, which also have fringes that are not quite as long, are gaining in popularity. They are the Mississippi Knee High, which measures 16 inches from the floor to the top of the boot, and Pony Boot, which stands 12 inches tall. Both are lace ups and have heavy canoe soles for tough terrain protection, with two layers of leather with an insole in between for added comfort.

Both are offered in sizes for men and women, and both come in a wide range of options, including suede and full grain leather in a choice of colors. Wholesale prices and suggested retails vary, depending on the choice of leather and color. The retail price for the Mississippi Knee High begins around $139 and reaches to $275. The retail pricing for Pony Boot is in the $169 range.
