Rob Kole, president, says, "A year ago our product line encompassed approximately 4,000 items. Now we have added about 3,000 closeouts, and that's in addition to the 4,000." Furthermore, the company is adding new closeouts all the time.
Partially due to rising gas prices and a softening of the economy that has impacted some large retailers, Kole says, "We know manufacturers have inventories they were ready to move and they are now being hung with a large amount of goods, as some of their customers cancelled orders. That has given us an enormous opportunity to purchase quality goods at very advantageous pricing."
As a result, he adds, "We're able to give our retailer customers an even larger variety of merchandise to choose from at great prices. We're able to sell them better quality, including many name brands for less than we normally could."
This comes at a time when Kole knows that both his company's retailer customers and the American consumer are being pressed for better deals. "Retailers need an opportunity to get lower prices," Kole says, noting that his company's closeouts encompass all categories.
Kole is able to take advantage of these closeout opportunities because its management is quick on its feet, and as Rob Kole puts it, "We have money in the bank." These sellers are eager to dispose of the full range of products they are holding in excess inventory in a single transaction, if possible.
"We can buy it all, and we can move quickly," Kole says. "We can make a decision on a dime, and we can pay in full. That gives us an advantage in obtaining the best buys." This move toward adding closeouts began approximately a year ago, and Kole says, "We have bought a lot of deals ever since. They range from one item to 100 truckloads at a time."
In addition to offering more variety in quality goods at better prices, Kole makes it easy for retailers to buy. It requires a minimum order of just $100, and that can include any assortment.
The company has been supplying discount and dollar stores for more than 20 years and is experienced at knowing what items sell best. New products are added continually, and the website is updated to accommodate them. All products are shown in color with full descriptions and clear wholesale pricing.
