Based on the intricate drawings of 70 different dog breeds, SJT Enterprises has enriched its product offerings with a slew of products devoted to man's best friend. The line includes key chains, signs with suction cups to hang on car windows or elsewhere, fridge magnets, signs, note pads, four by eight inch stickers and more. All carry licensed images from the original artist.
"There are 77 different images of the 70 breeds," says Timothy Smith, president. "The whole line has taken off very well. We've been told that dog lovers spend more in celebration of their pets than cat lovers do," he says. But a cat collection may be in the works. He has just seen about 40 to 45 cat images by the same artist, "and that presents a possibility down the road,"
Meanwhile, the items dedicated to dogs often include sayings only a dog lover could appreciate. For example, buyers can pick the breed on signs that say, "Love is being owned by a...," or "I love my...," or "On the 8th day God created the...".
There are also scrolls for each breed that list Property Laws for the owner. As if written by the dog, the scrolls list all the things pups generally consider, "mine." Stickers spell out such sayings as, "Caution: Killer Beagle on Duty," or, "Caution: Black Lab May Lick You to Death." A variety of in-store displayers are available to feature the collection. SJT guarantees the sale, and will replace units that don't sell through.
A majority of items in the collection are priced at a wholesale cost of 83 cents each. On large orders, that declines to as little as 68 cents to 73 cents each. Suggested retail prices range from $1.99 to $2.99 a unit, making them irresistible to most dog owners or to people who know friends and family members that will want these mementos.
