More than 200 new items join Galan Enterprises' extensive inventory of novelty license plates, celebrity ID cards, stickers, signs and more. This takes the total above 2,000, according to Bob Galan, president, who also reports that the website has been updated to provide retailers with a comprehensive product catalog.

Among the newest additions are, "a lot of Route 66 signs and plates, a lot of Arizona items, and the 'Busted Knuckle' line of signs and celebrity ID cards," Galan says. Busted Knuckle is a licensed property, and Busted Knuckle Garage is a current best seller, he reports.

All Galan's products are original and manufactured here by the supplier, which enables Galan to keep prices low. In addition, it has the unique ability to emboss its signs and license plates at two and three levels, and it has added a four color process that provides true pictures, not just drawings, without adding to the cost. All of these highly embossed aluminum signs have curved edges and come shrink wrapped.

The company has approximately 1,000 celebrity ID cards, and it has been their best selling category for the past few years, Galan says. Among the most popular current sellers are the back seat driver's license and cards identified with Busted Knuckle, Elvis, Betty Boop and pirates.

Galan has been in business for 25 years and has amassed a wealth of merchandising knowledge. As a result, it has developed displays for every category it carries, and some can hold multiple categories. In general, if a retailer buys a rack full of product, the displayer is free. This typically translates to 12 units of any item.

The wholesale cost of a license plate is about $2.50, depending on the design, and suggested retail ranges from $7.95 to $10.95. The larger metal signs wholesale for $4.90, and suggested retail is $9.95 to $15.95.

The minimum opening order is $150, and there's a minimum order of two pieces for signs. The reorder minimum is $100.
