SavesUCash Makes U Money

Sep 1, 2009
by Judi Perkins

In the world of ecommerce, it can often seem difficult to connect with a reputable supplier of high quality goods. However, SavesUCash.com has earned a top spot on the pedestal of credibility. They won the 2008-2009 Presidential Who's Who in American Business Award, and possess the enviable BBB rating of A+, the highest rating possible, and one difficult for an ecommerce company to achieve.

To further emphasize their trustworthiness, they have made sure their SSL seal is visible, eliminating any doubt about the safety of purchasing through their website. "We are who we say we are," said Carlson Beeman, owner. "We try to put the customer at ease, and our credibility speaks for itself." SavesUCash.com has grown from a one man operation on eBay to a primary player in the general merchandise market, supplying buyers as diverse as flea market vendors to Nordstrom's and Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. In 2001, Beeman was selling refurbished radar detectors, making a couple hundred bucks each week, when he decided to find additional sources and sell more products.

"We got hooked in with a Cobra Electronics distributor and ran a special on walkie talkie FRS radios. Cobra was offering a two-limit rebate of $20. We were moving so much volume that we got a special deal: they printed our own rebate certificate, limit ten per customer, so we were making about $10 per radio. When you're selling 1,500 radios every week, it is good money. That is how we started the company," said Beeman.

It was but a short step to tradeshows, meeting with vendors and import partners, and developing an extensive supply source. Said Beeman, "It grew rapidly, and we developed a really nice business from it. We now have nearly 30 categories that are all inclusive." SavesUCash.com began by courting the average size buyer. "We knew there were a lot of people out there looking for a second source of income, or who want to start their own business and don't have a lot of money to work with," he said. "We pass along the volume buying power that we have, so that regardless of the size of your budget, you can take advantage of these wholesale deals."

Beeman emphasizes his ability to supply money making products to a wide variety of businesses, without regard to the size of the customer. "We deal with small, medium and large customers, and we do not differentiate in the service we give them. Whether they spend $50 or $5,000 they are going to get that same A+ Better Business rated customer service." Additionally, SavesUCash.com makes it exceptionally easy for customers to buy. They are wholesale direct to the public, with no minimum purchase and no membership required. "That is our market strategy and our slogan," said Beeman.

There are about 500 products on site, most of which come from dealing directly with the manufacturers and import partners in their distribution network. The company's vast network of distribution facilities all over the U.S. allows them to fill customers' orders rapidly, and ship just as quickly. Said Beeman, "Our standard order processing time is one to three days, depending on the volume in the queue. Unlike the old catalog days of six to eight weeks, we generally have the merchandise to the customer in ten days, and in many instances, only five."

Their website is easy to navigate. Free registration is on the home page, front and center. Company information, including a video, is concise and immediately visible. Their awards are below the company information. "We do not have a lot of bells and whistles going off. It is very easy, with accurate descriptions and photos of the products," said Beeman. Once a buyer is in, categories are on the left and Hot Deals of the Day are in the middle. These are changed regularly because of speedy inventory turnover. Product pages show the wide variety of products and carry Google ads for related products.

One of the perks currently available to every customer is the General Partners Wholesale Club membership. "It was designed to reward our volume buyers," said Beeman. "They pay $49.95, which is a one time only fee, and is good for a lifetime. The membership gives them a 15 percent discount off of posted prices on qualifying items. It is designed to reward our frequent customers with a discount that helps them make even more money." Another perk is the CD new members receive the 2009 Wholesale Report, which is a PDF report of wholesale and vendor supply sources. Said Beeman, "It is general information we compiled into our own comprehensive and organized report. It comes with the membership, or can be purchased for $21.95 and shipped at no charge."

Before the end of the year, the website will also be state of the art. Said Beeman, "We are in the midst of a huge development, where the customer interface will be fully functional, much more engaging, and user friendly. Customers will be able to track orders, see previous orders and take advantage of other extras that will help them successfully run their businesses." A large segment of the market that utilizes SavesUCash.com's vast array of products and distribution network is the Premiums market, for which the company has a product line specifically geared. "For instance, a company will advertise, 'Try this today, and we will give you a pair of Foster Grant sunglasses.' One of the programs we did with Nordstrom's," he said, "was for customers who spent $200. When they did that, they received a ladies' pink toolkit. We do a lot with the promotional end for corporate gifts, premium gifts and company giveaways," said Beeman.

SavesUCash.com also does custom imprinting. "An ambulance service in Philadelphia wanted embroidered blankets to make their dialysis patients comfortable during transportation. We embroidered their logo on the blankets," Beeman said. "We do that on a lot of golf umbrellas for golfing events also." There is no printed catalog, but their online one is comprehensive. A wholesaler needing merchandise would be wise to subscribe to SavesUCash.com's newsletter, since only subscribers receive notice of special offers. "They are not available to the people that simply come and buy from the website. Unless they are on the email list, they are not going to know about the Buy One, Get One Free Geneva watch deal. They will never know what kind of deal is coming down the pike," Beeman said.

Newsletter distribution depends on the merchandise and time of year. "Right now all segments of the economy are slow, so we might do one or two a week. But during the busy season, we might send one every day," said Beeman. "If we get only a specific number of pieces of something, time is of the essence. Our customers need to be able to react quickly."

He said WholesaleCentral.com has been instrumental in bringing new customers. "WholesaleCentral has helped us capture additional markets, because they have such a wide reach across the Internet. It is also recognized as the crème de la crème of wholesale search engines for finding quality and reliable wholesale sources," said Beeman. "That is why we put our advertising dollars with the company that we know can deliver the results we need."

Beeman emphasizes his dedication to providing solutions for all types and sizes of businesses. "We really are a one stop shopping service for wholesale general merchandise, no matter the company size. If there is a need for an imprint product, we can help with that. We are versatile, friendly and easy to contact," he said.
