Sales Popping At Party Celebration

Mar 1, 2008

Party Celebration, a wholesale company that offers a variety of non classified fireworks, was launched in 2001. The company specializes in fireworks that are fun, safe and a great way to celebrate any occasion. Party Celebration is owned by three brothers and John Nicholson, a long time friend they met in college. The three brothers have been in the fireworks business for 45 years, and John joined in 2001 to become President of Party Celebration. The company is one of the exclusive distributors of Black Cat safe and sane fireworks and novelty items.

The idea for Party Celebrations was born when one of the owners, David Collar, was in China and discovered a product, which is now known as the Confetti Blaster. Confetti Blasters are made of heavy cardboard that houses a compressed air chamber. When the air is released with the pull string, guests are showered with festive confetti. Confetti Blaster, originally called the Party Blaster, is exclusive to Party Celebration, and the company has a patent in the U.S. "Others may try to sell knock offs of the Confetti Blaster, but because we have a patent, no one else can legally sell it," said John Nicholson.

The Confetti Blaster is Party Celebration's number one product, and the company sells about 2000 cases annually. "We wanted to bring non traditional party snappers to the public. Our goal is to supply fun party products that do not require the use of fire," said Nicholson. Party Celebration's second most popular item is Party Snappers.

"Stage Shower and Party Time Bottle are two products that represent our novelty items," said Nicholson. The stage shower releases and shoots over six foot long, gold Mylar streamers into the air. This is done simply with the quick pull of a string. The party time bottle is a large plastic champagne bottle filled with 40 party poppers and ten iconic poppers.

All of Party Celebration's products are packaged in bags with colorful headers, ready to hang on pegs in any location in a store. To aid customers in selling their products, Party Celebration offers a number of attractive floor and countertop displays. The company offers many varieties and sizes of value packed assortments. These are packed in a multicolored tray that is shrink wrapped for customer convenience, and some of the most popular products are packaged for ease of purchasing.

"We have tried other items and they just did not work out. We have people who come to us with products, and we decide on the safety of the item and whether or not we want to add it to our product offering," said John Nicholson.

Party Celebration stocks an inventory of 50 to 60 items. "Party Celebration has basically remained the same since its inception. However, in today's world, we are always trying to find the hottest new item that we can bring to our customers," said Nicholson.

The company sells to party, chain and grocery stores, among other retailers. Party Celebration products wholesale from 99 cents to $12. The company stands out from the competition because of it is exclusivity with the very popular Confetti Blaster. The company's arrangement with Black Cat also gives it an edge on the competition. "Black Cat is the number one name in the fireworks business, and they are very supportive of Party Celebration. We advertise that we sell Black Cat," said Nicholson.

Party Celebration boasts good customer service. "We sell good, quality merchandise, and try to meet the needs of our customers. We guarantee our products and will take back any items if there is a quality issue," said Nicholson.

Party Celebration sells its products via sales reps, over the Internet, at tradeshows and through the distribution of catalogs. The company sells throughout the U.S., but does not export its products at this time. Party Celebration will fill orders for under $100, to over $1,000. "The more a customer buys the better the deal we can make for them," said Nicholson.

The company's website was launched in 2002, and approximately 20 percent of business is done on the site, located at www.party-celebration.com.

"We try to get out in the market and in front of as many people as possible. Our focus is to get everyone to sell the Confetti Blaster. Our second priority of business is to get our end cap program into as many chain stores as possible. We also want to enable everyone to have fun and celebrate special occasions with safe, 'non firework' items," said Nicholson.

As Party Celebration moves forward," Our intention is to continually look for new ideas and new products. We want to find exciting items to bring to the party world," said Nicholson.
