eCards Add Gifts

Dec 1, 2008

Gifts.com, an online gift recommendation site, has partnered with AG Interactive, the online division of American Greetings. The partnership streamlines the online gift giving process with AmericanGreetings.com, one of the largest email greeting providers.

Customers select an eCard at AmericanGreetings.com, click, "personalize and send," and then choose to add a gift card for $10 or more. Recipients can redeem their Gifts.com Gift Card value at more than 100 participating retailers, restaurants and entertainment venues such as Nike, Gap, The Cheesecake Factory and Ticketmaster.

"Our partnership with American Greetings offers a new twist on an eFavorite," said Gifts.com CEO, Jason Rapp. "Gift givers are busier than ever, but now they can send a personalized greeting and a great gift in no time at all."

"Our users have asked for new, innovative ways to send gifts along with their eCards," said Kathy Hecht, SVP and general manager of AmericanGreetings.com. "Our partnership with Gifts.com gives them just that by allowing them to include a gift card that can be redeemed at hundreds of popular retailers."

According to the Greeting Card Association, more than 500 million eCards were sent worldwide in 2007.
